this is a rambling post.
I currently work in the library at uni, and have done so for over a year. Im still unsure about what im doing after uni, whether im staying in london or not is the main decision i have to make –
Id be paying rent at if i went home, granted it would be cheaper, however it comes with a great reduction of accessible independence – my family home is a bungalow so it feels hard to have any idea space, I live rurally – and dont drive – so getting into town (presumably for work) is difficult, and – other than my family – i have little reason to stay.
So staying in London, where I have freinds (and reliable public transport) seems like the better of the two options, though it comes at the cost of, well, money. and thus time.
Im not at all in a position to live off of making ‘art’, artists seldom are, so im looking for jobs that can pay for rent and essentials, while giving me space to still work on projects
I enjoy libraries as spaces, and have enjoyed working there due to access to inspiration and the generally quiet nature of job, so my current searching (outside of creative jobs) has focused on this.
