Music & Labels

Over the last year Ive self released a fair amount of music, though regrettably im terrible at self promotion.

Ive had a few instances of random ‘exposure’

1.

I had an album shared on this site (newothermusic.blogspot.com), what essentailly acts a portal to a pirated download of the album what i think is actually quite fun as it means people have actually chosen to listen to the music. I had over 100 visitors to my bandcamp page from this site as well.

2.

After uploading my music to a streaming site called Nina, I got a track played on the Berlin based radio station ‘Refuge Worldwide’ by an artist called Sunfear. Ive since listened to her music and enjoy it a lot, despite myself not playing in a specific ‘scene’ there are aesthetic similarities – perhaps it would be a good idea to ask her about music?

3.

one of my songs got added to a small playlist on spotify, what led to a handful of listens from random people. although this is only very small it made me think more about how people listen to music in playlists, and how i should think a little more about it than i currently do (which i practically dont, haha)

basically i need to send music to labels, niche ones maybe, with artists who i listen to, or maybe freinds labels.

interesting stats:

Nina

bandcamp, made £53

soundcloud, actually lost money as i pay for subscription 🙁
